Monster Applique Onesie


Materials:

Artiste #8 Crochet Cotton in black, bright lime, and white

Size F hook
Tapestry needle
Fabric glue OR needle and thread

Eyes (make 2)
Start with magic ring
Rnd 1: ch 1, dc 12 in the ring, tighten ring, slst to 1st dc (12 dc)

Rnd 2: ch 1, dc 2 in each dc around, slst to 1st dc (24 dc)

Rnd 3: ch 1 hdc 1 in each dc around, slst to 1st hdc, fasten off, weave in ends (24 hdc)

Teeth (make 2)
ch 5
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each remaining chs, ch 1, turn (4 sc)

Row 2: sc2tog (twice), ch 1, turn (2 sc)

Row 3: sc 1 in both sts, ch 1, turn (2 sc)

Row 4: sc2tog, ch 1, fasten off, weave in ends (1 sc)



Mouth:
With black, ch 6, then slst 4 across top of tooth. Ch 4, then slst 4 across 2nd tooth, ch 6. Tie a knot at the end of the ch then cut off excess string on both sides.



Now you can attach the appliques to the onesie by either using fabric glue or needle and thread in matching color. I chose to use fabric glue. If you are going to go this route, please note that a little goes a long way. I also put a piece of cardboard in between the onesie to keep the glue from seeping through to the other side. Let dry according to the glue's instructions.
